Jennifer Lopez, assisted by DJ Khalid and rising rapper Cardi B, drops a second energetic, infectious, and exclusively Spanish single, “Dinero.”

“They say money talk, but my talking bilingual.” After impressing with “El Anillo” (“The Ring”), pop superstar Jennifer Lopez returns with a second exclusively Spanish single, “Dinero” (“Money”).  Unlike “The Ring,” Lopez invites company along for the ride, DJ Khaled and continually-rising Grammy-nominated rapper, Cardi B. Like “The Ring,” the results are well-rounded.

“Dinero” initiates with a spirited intro, featuring confident vocals by Jennifer Lopez about – *cha-ching* – money!  Alongside Lopez, the listener earn the ‘pleasure’ hearing shout-outs from the record’s co-producer, DJ Khaled.  In addition to the DJ, Tommy Brown is also a co-producer. Speaking of production, there are a number of terrific touches.  The Spanish-guitar, Latin-dance fueled sound of the verses is definitely #winning, allowing Lopez plenty of vocal space to ‘cut through.’ Another great touch is the beat-switch on the chorus. Expectedly, the chorus gets heavier treatment and punchier vocals by Lopez.  It also happens to be catchy, with a dash of English incorporated in.

“Yo quiero, yo quiero dinero, ay…

I just want the green, want the money, want the cash flow

Yo quiero noventa, sí, cincuenta, sí, doscientos…”

Cardi B arrives for the third verse, rapping over a beefier beat.  The trap beat comes directly from the chorus. Naturally, she matches the toughness with an alluring flow, closing her verse with a bang:

“Two bad bitches that came from the Bronx

Cardi from the pole and Jenny from the block.”

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Dinero” keeps the hits coming for Jennifer Lopez.  Furthermore, Cardi B continues a monstrous breakout year, initiated in 2017.  As for DJ Khaled, well, his influence continues to be felt throughout the industry. “Dinero” isn’t the ‘end all, be all,’ but it’s definitely entertaining.
