On the 19th edition of 3BOPS in 2021, we select three awesome songs that are associated with Jeans
in some form or fashion.
On 3BOPS, we are totally dedicated to keeping things L-I-T-E! Similar to 5ive Songs, there’s a topic and a short blurb, only with THREE songs instead of FIVE. Yes, it’s a playlist, but it’s a miniature playlist that shouldn’t take much time to consume. On the 19th edition of 3BOPS in 2021, we select three awesome songs that are associated with JEANS in some form or fashion.
1. Juice WRLD, “Blood on My Jeans”
Legends Never Die •
Grade A Productions / Interscope •
2020
In the context of
Legends Never Die, the first posthumous album by
Juice WRLD,
“Blood on My Jeans” has a tough act to follow. Thankfully, it’s a banger that is clearly up to the task. Ultimately, it’s another winner for Juice with its banging trap drums, melodic sensibilities, and unapologetic, swagger-laden rhymes.
One of my favorite lyrics hail from the chorus. Juice memorably raps:
“If you feel on my dick, there’s a gun Not right there, just a little above.”
Now that’s ‘bloody’ gangsta!
2. Ryan Beatty, “God in Jeans”
Boy in Jeans •
Boy in Jeans •
2018
“God is real, he was sleeping in my bed last night / We were naked with the radio on / Played him my favorite song.”
Ryan Beatty gets blasphemous on the chorus of
“God in Jeans”, one of a countless number of highlights from his debut album,
Boy in Jeans. Sorry God… but it’s difficult not to “yield to temptation” for this bop. “God in Jeans” features a sick, hard-hitting, soulful beat. This provides as a great anchor to the alt-pop/rock sound. Besides the aforementioned, there are more spiritual references on the verses including prayer, joy, preaching, and choir.
On the second verse, he seems to address both his boyfriend, and judgmental people as he sings, “Oh my God, you know I need ya / If I’m going to hell, I’m taking you with me.” We don’t have a visual, unfortunately, but the boy definitely wears those jeans well – at least if we go by the song.

3. Lana Del Rey, “Blue Jeans”
Born to Die – The Paradise Edition •
Interscope •
2012
In 2011, the world was introduced to
Lana Del Rey, a talented musician with quite a distinct voice on her hands. Eventually, Del Rey would be a
Grammy-nominated musician, consistently improving upon her craft.
Born to Die (originally released in 2011) featured a key early gem from Del Rey,
“Video Games”. The song at hand,
“Blue Jeans,” another Born to Die single, arguably isn’t quite as big as “Video Games” was, but it’s definitely another worthwhile listen.
This three-minute record was written by Del Rey, Emile Haynie, and
Dan Heath, with
production by Haynie. The backdrop supporting the singer fits her overall aesthetic. It’s definitely a vibe. Vocally, she indulges into her rich, robust tone and for the most part, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Perhaps, the performance could use more pizazz – more oomph – but, if nothing else, it is pleasant, particularly the chorus:
“I will love you till the end of time I would wait a million years Promise you’ll remember that you’re mine Baby can you see through the tears? Love you more than those bitches before Say you’ll remember, oh baby Say you’ll remember I will love you till the end of time...”
