On the 19th edition of 3BOPS in 2021, we select three awesome songs that are associated with Jeans
in some form or fashion.
On 3BOPS, we are totally dedicated to keeping things L-I-T-E! Similar to 5ive Songs, thereโs a topic and a short blurb, only with THREE songs instead of FIVE. Yes, itโs a playlist, but itโs a miniature playlist that shouldnโt take much time to consume. On the 19th edition of 3BOPS in 2021, we select three awesome songs that are associated with JEANS in some form or fashion.
1. Juice WRLD, โBlood on My Jeansโ
Legends Never Die โข
Grade A Productions / Interscope โข
2020
In the context of
Legends Never Die, the first posthumous album by
Juice WRLD,
โBlood on My Jeansโ has a tough act to follow. Thankfully, itโs a banger that is clearly up to the task. Ultimately, itโs another winner for Juice with its banging trap drums, melodic sensibilities, and unapologetic, swagger-laden rhymes.
One of my favorite lyrics hail from the chorus. Juice memorably raps:
โIf you feel on my dick, thereโs a gun Not right there, just a little above.โ
Now thatโs โbloodyโ gangsta!
2. Ryan Beatty, โGod in Jeansโ
Boy in Jeans โข
Boy in Jeans โข
2018
โGod is real, he was sleeping in my bed last night / We were naked with the radio on / Played him my favorite song.โ
Ryan Beatty gets blasphemous on the chorus of
โGod in Jeansโ, one of a countless number of highlights from his debut album,
Boy in Jeans. Sorry Godโฆ but itโs difficult not to โyield to temptationโ for this bop. โGod in Jeansโ features a sick, hard-hitting, soulful beat. This provides as a great anchor to the alt-pop/rock sound. Besides the aforementioned, there are more spiritual references on the verses including prayer, joy, preaching, and choir.
On the second verse, he seems to address both his boyfriend, and judgmental people as he sings, โOh my God, you know I need ya / If Iโm going to hell, Iโm taking you with me.โ We donโt have a visual, unfortunately, but the boy definitely wears those jeans well โ at least if we go by the song.

3. Lana Del Rey, โBlue Jeansโ
Born to Die ยญโ The Paradise Edition โข
Interscope โข
2012
In 2011, the world was introduced to
Lana Del Rey, a talented musician with quite a distinct voice on her hands. Eventually, Del Rey would be a
Grammy-nominated musician, consistently improving upon her craft.
Born to Die (originally released in 2011) featured a key early gem from Del Rey,
โVideo Gamesโ. The song at hand,
โBlue Jeans,โ another Born to Die single, arguably isnโt quite as big as โVideo Gamesโ was, but itโs definitely another worthwhile listen.
This three-minute record was written by Del Rey, Emile Haynie, and
Dan Heath, with
production by Haynie. The backdrop supporting the singer fits her overall aesthetic. Itโs definitely a vibe. Vocally, she indulges into her rich, robust tone and for the most part, we wouldnโt have it any other way. Perhaps, the performance could use more pizazz โ more oomph โ but, if nothing else, it is pleasant, particularly the chorus:
โI will love you till the end of time I would wait a million years Promise youโll remember that youโre mine Baby can you see through the tears? Love you more than those bitches before Say youโll remember, oh baby Say youโll remember I will love you till the end of time...โ
