According to 🏆 Grammy-nominated singer and actress 🎙 Janelle Monáe, “Don’t ask me shit about work / ‘Cause I’m on my champagne shit.”  Hell yeah, Janelle!  🎵 “Champagne Shit” appears as the second track on her risqué, sexually charged 😈, 2023 album, 💿 The Age of Pleasure.  “Champagne Shit” has no shortage of pleasure over the course of under two-and-a-half minutes.  Money is no object on this naughty gem, where, in the chorus, Monaé is “throwin’ them tips” and “She throwin’ them hips.” Gah-day-ummm!  

The pleasure doesn’t cease there! Why should it?  In the post-chorus, Monáe encourages her to “Back that ass up,” clearly embracing her sexual identity 🌈. She further proclaims, “It’s all in them hip, hip, hips / She got them dimples in her back…” Holy shiitake mushrooms! Of those back dimples Monáe references, per Healthline, “are a fairly common cosmetic feature… Not only are they harmless, but they are even considered a sign of beauty, especially in women!” There is only one verse on “Champagne Shit.” After crying foul about the notion of work, Janelle doubles down on partying. Where vacationing required prayers for Janelle before the come up, now she’s enjoying the age of pleasure – “I’m talkin’ high heels and no shirts.” WOO! Ah, must be totally nice to be on that 🎵 “Champagne Shit”! Janelle sings superbly, as always, while the production (Monáe and 🎛 Nate “Rocket” Wonder), and the aesthetic/vibe are electric.
