In the 4th edition of Midnight Heat 🕛 🔥 (2023), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind “Sexting” by Jaheim.
Ah, bring on Midnight Heat 🕛 🔥! Wait – it is not usually hot at midnight! Well, it is steaming hot 🥵 at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. Yeah, we are talking about that after dark, bedroom boom $hi†, ya dig? These unapologetic records often raises both eyebrows and temperature alike. Woo! In the 4th edition of Midnight Heat (2023), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind, 🎵 “Sexting” by 🎙 Jahim.
“Fine wine, my kind of woman, mature / Text messaging each other more and more.” Of course, the text messages that 🎙 Jaheim and his prospective woman are exchanging on 🎵 “Sexting” (💿 Appreciation Day, 2013) are not that innocent, Britney! Sexting is exactly how it sounds – sexual texting, including pics. After Ja encourages her, and she’s charmed, he asserts, “Then she get up the nerve and be like, oh, what the hell / ‘You’ve got mail.’” That mail, of course ends up being NSFW – shocker! The catchy, freaky chorus sums things up perfectly:
“She be sending pictures
She be saying I can’t wait until I’m wit’cha
… Told her send your boy a photo
She be saying better make sure it’s a no show, that’s a no, no
Don’t let your homegirl see what I’m sending back
Me and her be sexting, freaky, freaky texting.”
Honestly, what more is there to be said? Jaheim is horny AF: “Got me swerving, I got one hand on the wheel / The other one scrolling, tryna hold it down.” Da-yum! Beyond the clear midnight heat, 🎵 “Sexting” is incredibly entertaining, and well-produced (🎛️ Jaheim, Kay Gee, Rob Lewis, Terence Abney, and Marcella Precise) with its dusty, soulful groove, rhythmic lines, keys, and that colorful bassy synth. Its suggestive without crossing too many lines.
