Welcome to Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹, featuring songs that encourage, inspire, and uplift the spirit; songs that exude fortitude, positivity, and resolve, even in the face of adversity.ย  Featured songs arenโ€™t genre-specific; songs may or may not be faith-based. The goal is for these songs to make you feel better โ€“ be LIFTED to new heights!ย So, for the 29th edition of Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹ (2025), we highlight โ€œI Need You To Hold My Handโ€ as performed by Jackson Southernaires.

Jackson Southernaires, A Touch of Class [๐Ÿ“ท: Malaco]โ€œLord, You know that Iโ€™m Your child / And Iโ€™m doing the best that I can,โ€ Frank Delano Williams (1947 โ€“ 1993) sings, speaking to God. He continues, sincerely singing, โ€œWhy my way gets so hard? /ย  You know, I just don’t understand / Oh Lord, I need You to hold my hand.โ€ Although short-lived, Frank was a key member of multiple gospel groups, including one of Mississippiโ€™s finest, the Jackson Southernaires. Among their most inspiring classics is โ€œI Need You To Hold My Handโ€, a song that speaks to the necessity of God. โ€œHandโ€ is the seventh track on their 1981 album, A Touch of Class.

Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹ (2025) [๐Ÿ“ท: Brent Faulkner / The Musical Hype; Dave H, Jean-Daniel Francoeur, Vansh Mehta from Pexels]In the second verse, going to different places, Frank asserts that, โ€œMany times Iโ€™m treated so bad.โ€ Even so, he realizes, โ€œI canโ€™t miss a friend that I never had.โ€ Let those words sink in.ย  Not everybody is going to be your friend.ย  Sometimes, those we believe are our friends are not. But, there is one Superfriend that you can always depend on and wonโ€™t ever let you down! Speaking of that super friend, rightfully, Frank is determined to โ€œContinue to run for Jesus / Even if I have to run alone / โ€˜Cause itโ€™s my determination / To make God’s beautiful Heaven my home.โ€ Word.ย  And not just any word, a good, utterly wise word. During the vamp, with Frank continuing to sing his heart out, the Jackson Southernaires petition God to โ€œHold me,โ€ and assert, โ€œSomebody needs You.โ€ Indeed! Perhaps you need some inspiration โ€“ something to lift the spirits! Please consider the enduring gospel gem that is โ€œI Need You To Hold My Handโ€.ย  Itโ€™s an oldie, but that message never fades or sours! Itโ€™s always sweet, sweet, sweet ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ™Œ!
