In Real Life, Tonight Belongs to You [Photo Credit: Hollywood]Following “Tattoo (How ‘Bout You)” and “How Badly,” Rising LA boy band In Real Life drops its third single of 2018, “Tonight Belongs to You.”

Who are In Real Life? In Real Life are a boy band comprised of Brady Tutton, Chance Perez, Drew Ramos, Michael Conor, and Sergio Calderon who won the show Boy Band. This boy band that’s ‘got next’ is based in Los Angeles, California, and signed to Hollywood Records.  Take one look at these good-looking dudes, and once again history has repeated itself.  After releasing singles “Tattoo (How ‘Bout You)” and “How Badly”, the boys return with their third single of 2018, “Tonight Belongs to You.”

Focusing on the sound first, “Tonight Belongs to You” blends tropical pop and reggaetón (Latin-infused). This is fitting giving the sensual vibes that the boys convey lyrically.  Vocally, the boys keep it pretty smooth – suave on the verses.  Drew and Chance sing on the first verse, singing about body moves and “a tension that we can’t deny.” Sergio takes the honors on the brief second verse, where he doesn’t want her to leave because “If you want, we can run away.” Pre-choruses follow each verse, sung by Michael the first time, adding Drew the second, and solely Chance the third and final.  On the choruses, sung by Brady, he sings with a bit more expression and oomph compared to the more low-key verses. Keeping in character of the song and style, Sergio Calderon provides a verse in Spanish, with successful results.  Everybody has a part, which is a pro.

Final Thoughts

Will a night with In Real Life change your life? No, but “Tonight Belongs to You” is a worthwhile listen by all means. There’s nothing game changing – same themes as well as clichés are in place – but, it’s enjoyable and pleasant.
