IDK & Offset, "SHOOT MY SHOT" [📷: Clue No Clue / Warner]Rappers IDK and Offset bring some serious F-I-R-E on their certified B-A-N-G-E-R, “Shoot My Shot.”

“When I used to shoot my shot, you a Matrix / Now you reappear, but I hate tricks.” Woo, now that’s some F-I-R-E right there 🎙 IDK! The rapper collaborates with one of the 🎙 Migos 🎙 Offset – for a surefire banger, 🎵 “Shoot My Shot”.  While there’s nothing transcendent that comes from the single, it is definitely a confident, entertaining, and well-assembled joint.

“Ass like a horse, but her face like she wholesome,” IDK asserts on the first verse, continuing, “Uh, Whole Foods shoppin’.” From the start, he’s totally ‘ON’ if you catch my drift – locked TF in.  His flow is formidable, and he truly comes up with some clever rhymes. He speaks about how badass she is, characterizing her as his type, and quoting fellow rappers:

“Like Biggie, if the head right, I’m there all night
Like Yeezy, when I see it, I’ma hit it on sight
Like Kendrick Lamar, we gon’ be al-.”

Later, IDK spoils us with a third verse, in addition to his awesome, totally cocky and confident chorus. Offset gets into the action of course, getting quite drippy with references to Gucci, Dior, and of course that Patek, sigh.  Still, he also references S-E-X, and also manages to cite a scene from 🎦 What’s Love Got to Do with It (“Eat the plate like Anna Mae, do it if she take the bait”). Woo! In addition to strong bars, the production (🎛 T-Minus) is on-point as well, as is the expectation for a trap banger.

Final Thoughts 💭

To reiterate, “Shoot My Shot” is a surefire B-A-N-G-E-R – BANGER BABY! No, none of the rhymes either IDK or Offset rap will change your life but they’ll certainly ‘give you life’ musically. Definitely worth adding to your listening rotation!
