IAMHaile Provides Optimism With New Track ‘Thank you’

IAMHaile has dropped his new track ‘Thank you’. Firstly, I want to say Thank you to Haile for making me feel so optimistic after clicking the play button.

It is a song which is all about belief, and the choice of wording and music drives home that message transparently from the get-go. I was actually on a train journey home when I first came across it, and I could not help but feel excited. So there I was earphones in, watching the world go speeding by me and it hit me that there is not enough of this type of rap out there.

‘Thank you’ has opened a whole new page for 2020 rap. Although it does follow a stereotypical hip hop beat and lead, it did stand out to me. As a result, I found myself on the same page with the rapper while he knocked out his popular bars. Giving up is not an option for IAMHaile, and I doubt many people will give up on his latest offering. The melody is soothing, and although sometimes challenging to hear every word, the vocal performance delivery oozes in passion and confidence.

Overall it is an excellent release from IAMHaile. However, I cannot give it a full five because certain areas do lack originality. Nevertheless, I rate it a high four out of five – George James.
