Florida rapper Hurricane Wisdom delivers an enjoyable, reflective, and short melodic rap single with “Over Now.”
“Screamin’ I’ll put down the cup, but I don’t know if I’ll quit.”
Honesty is the best policy,
Hurricane Wisdom (
Wisdom Mikeal Oluola). The Floridian rapper is honest on his succinct single,
“Over Now”. He wrote “Over Now” with producer
whoiswylan. Incredibly brief, the song clocks in well under two minutes. That doesn’t stop the rapper from putting in work, however. He delivers a melodic rap performance that is tuneful and rhythmic. Following the intro, Hurricane Wisdom drops the emotional chorus where he concludes, “My heart too big to hide, huh / Sad to say, it’s getting’ colder, huh.” Word. The post-chorus follows, where the rapper asserts, “But it’s over now, you heard it loud from me.” Gotta love those titular lyrics! Admittedly, without the words in front of you, it’s a bit difficult to decipher what he says. From there, HW drops the sole verse where he rides the beat well, serving up an alluring cadence and flow. He is heartfelt, reflective, and again, rhythmic. Beyond his vocal performance, the bright, warm, and colorful production is one of the biggest selling points. “The groove is sensational. All told,
“Over Now” is a vibe. Is it the second coming? Nope, but it’s worth spinning.
