Let me teach you how to get the sex.” Woo! Yes please, Human Form Divine! Who doesn’t want all the sex – a healthy sex life! Anyways, Human Form Divine is an artist who has been prolific with singles in 2023.  He closed out the year with the hypnotic “All the Sex”. This song can be best described as quite an adventurous listening experience – an understatement. It’s built on minimalism, both from a musical and vocal perspective. The key lyrics involve the titular lyric (“all the sex”), with related sexual lyrics and wild, left-field vocal samples. The music thrives off its groove, unique synths, and intriguing sound effects.  At one point, Human Form Divine refers to tigers  when it comes to ‘ matters of the bedroom.’ Expected, we get a purr in the mix!

“All the Sex,” again, is not your standard, straightforward track. Human Form Divine separates himself from a host of other artists.  This record is simplistic in one sense because it is built on minimalism and repetition.  In another sense, however, the perceived ‘randomness’ and ‘chaos’ requires planning and thought to make it work.  Initially, listening to “All the Sex,” I took pause – what is HFD doing and going for exactly? But, after repeated listens, I found myself sucked in, desiring him to teach me how to attain “All the Sex”.  Unusual and unorthodox, that is the charm of this colorful, sexed-up single.
