Rising British pop musician HRVY returns with a relatable, love-yearning single, “I Wish You Were Here.”

British pop artist HRVY is best known for his hit single, “Personal.” After the arrival of “Personal,” he also dropped “Hasta Luego” with Malu Trevejo. Back once again, he makes the relatable assertion, “I Wish You Were Here.” A brief song, “I Wish You Were Here” just crosses the two-minute mark in duration. Nonetheless, young Harvey Cantwell packs a punch.

One of the best aspects of “I Wish You Were Here” are the vocals by HRVY. His falsetto is brilliant, while his tone is smooth and boyish in nature. He gets a lift from lovely, harmonized vocals, including the vocal studio effects on the ‘chorus’ section. Beyond the vocals, the production itself is excellent, blending modern pop and urban contemporary. The beat definitely stands out. HRVY seems to be singing to an ex-:

The love that he feels is ‘unrequited’ – “I guess I want you, you don’t want me.” Later, he urges her to come back:

Final Thoughts

All in all, HRVY delivers ‘the goods’ on “I Wish You Were Here.” It’s short but incredibly sweet for the rising pop heartthrob.
