After dethroning Sia (“Cheap Thrills”) a couple of weeks ago, The Chainsmokers (“Closer”) have refuse to give up the throne. The first two spots on this week’s Hot 100 – dated September 17, 2016 – remain the same (Major Lazer, “Cold Water” sits at no. 2).  Other than The “Closer” and “Cold Water,” there are other compelling chart stories from the Hot 100.

 

  1. The Chainsmokers spend a third week at no. 1 with “Closer” featuring Halsey. Interestingly, “Don’t Let Me Down” (featuring Daya) improves two spots from no. 7 to no. 5.

  1. DJ Khaled’s “For Free” (featuring Drake) drops four spots from no. 18 to no. 22. “For Free” peaked at no. 13.

 

 

  1. Gnash’s surprise hit “I Hate U I Love U” (featuring Olivia O’Brien) reaches a new peak position, no. 23.

 

  1. Daya continues to see her profile grow. “Sit Still, Look Pretty” reaches a new peak position at no. 28.
