Well, it is steaming hot ๐Ÿฅต at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo, and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. โ€œDonโ€™t wanna get into it (Back and forth) / I know that youโ€™ve been through it (Back and forth),โ€ Halle (Halle Bailey) sings in the chorus of โ€œBack and Forthโ€. She continues, โ€œNo, I donโ€™t wanna do it (Back and forth) / Just come right over here and (Shut the door).โ€ So, why is the door being shut? Use your Imagination. In this brief number (it barely crosses the two-minute mark), Halle depicts the ups and downs, rather, the back and forth of love. Fittingly, โ€œBack and Forthโ€ was released on Valentineโ€™s Day 2025. Bailey penned it while Needlz produced it.

As for Halle, she delivers buttery smooth vocals. Her tone is celestial. She never forces things, barely breaking a sweat as she sings.  โ€œBack and Forthโ€ never gets too nasty, but there are steamy moments.  In the first verse, Halle urges, โ€œGet out of your feelings for me, babe / No one has loved you like me, I would never fool you.โ€ Intimacy arrives in the second verse: โ€œI might be selfish, Iโ€™ll be baby / But I donโ€™t care, just come and touch me everywhere.โ€ Damn! Furthermore, per the pre-chorus, โ€œI got a fire in me and youโ€™re the only one that tames it / Come on, wonโ€™t you taste it?โ€ And, again I say, damn! Beyond her celestial lead vocals, the backing vocals are angelic themselves. The section to beat is the simple but memorable chorus excerpted above. โ€œBack and Forthโ€ is not the most overt love or sex song, but it is sexy.  After all, he is the one who tames her. Her words, not mine!
