Atlanta rapper Gunna taps fellow Atlantan rapper Future for “Too Easy,” a flex track that’s entertaining but doesn’t break new ground.
“I
t’s Young Wunna and Young Wheezy, man, this shit too easy.” Good to know 🎙 Gunna, good to know. The ATL rapper collaborates with producer 🎛 Wheezy and taps fellow ATL rapper 🎙 Future for the assist. The result is a short, successful flex track in 🎵 “Too Easy”.Gunna doesn’t flip the game on its side with “Too Easy,” nor does he need to. When he asserts “this shit too easy,” he’s not lying. He’s living the life riding the beat. “I take drugs and feel relaxed, it’s like they therapeutic,” he spits on the chorus, continuing, “She text that pussy, I don’t call back so she won’t think I need it / I stick dick deep inside her throat where it ain’t no more breathin’.” Ok… I’ma leave that alone! Similarly, he remains cocky and confident on the first verse, never getting too excited – easy shit, remember? As for Future, well, he serves up more of the same – “a different bitch for different places,” “I threw the Marni on the and took the price up like I designed it,” and “Started talkin’ Chinese from all these sticks in the car.” Need I say more?
Final Thoughts 💭
If you go into a Gunna track expecting depth, well, you’ve got the wrong idea! There is no depth to be found on “Too Easy” (expectedly 😏) as the rapper is merely spitting about drip and sex. He picked the right one in Future to complement him – he’s a pro at it. “Too Easy” is enjoyable but not the least bit game changing. Will we remember it years from now? Nah.
