Gucci Mane taps producer Mike WiLL Made-It, and fellow rapper, B.G. for the ice
cold
rap banger, “Cold.”
“Thinking ‘bout them cold nights, sleeping in that cold cell / Eating nothin’ but cold food, they let me out that cold jail.” Woo! Gucci Mane makes it crystal clearly on his single,
“Cold” that incarceration was hell. It begins early on in the song with the real-talk chorus, which is capped off by the assertion, “Took off all them jail clothes, showered
off that jail smell.” On this brief but telling two-and-a-half minute song, Gucci is assisted by producer extraordinaire,
Mike WiLL Made-It, and fellow rapper,
B.G..
That beat by Mike WiLL Made-It is cold
as hell
… rather, cold
as ice
. The minimalist backdrop is great fuel
for the fire
of both Gucci Mane and B.G. Following the chorus, Gucci Mane continues to impress with his flow. It’s typical, but always great to hear that mush-mouthed delivery from the veteran rapper. Unapologetic, Gucci keeps it street AF: “Shout out to the cartel, fuck the opps, they called twelve / I been trapping since twelve, selling nicks and bricks and bales.” Wow
! B.G. keeps the same energy in the second verse: “Feds got me burnt out, still a little institutionalized / Nigga, that shit was real, seen niggas stabbed to death right before my eyes.” Traumatizing! All told,
“Cold” is a stone cold rap banger
.
