Portland-based pop artist Grant Brett gets us all hot and bothered with his brief, naughty, sex-positive single, “Freaky.”
“Iget freaky, freaky / When you talk dirty.” Word. Grant Brett (Grant Breitmeier) isn’t shy. At least, he doesn’t come over as shy presenting musically. “Freaky” marks the third Grant Brett single I’ve consumed and once again, the handsome, openly gay pop artist is sex-positive to the nth degree. The cards are revealed by the song’s title, ladies and gentlemen – Grant wants to get down and dirty. FREAKY, baby! Also, see the cover artwork, where our beloved bottom is sucking on a lollipop. Intentional? Of course! Brett penned this brief, horny, sub-two-minute cut, while Jayden Mckenzie produced.
What makes “Freaky” the sugar honey iced tea? Well, who doesn’t love a naughty sex song? Brett has the personality to pull off sex songs superbly. “I got you so hypnotized / My face in between your thighs / Mouthful…” Yeah, we’ll stop there! His vocal performance is playful as if he’s just waiting for the opportunity to come to ‘get it in.’ The lyrics aren’t deep, but, they are titillating, and it’s clear what he has in mind. Adding to the allure is the backdrop, set in a minor key, that encourages the – wait for it – FREAKINESS! Sex songs are everywhere – everybody loves sex! But, even so, they never get old! Grant Brett may not revolutionize something universal, but the handsome, talented fella sho’ nuff ‘gets us going’ on “Freaky”. “I get on my knees and beg / Please can I have a taste (I need it).” Ooh-la-la – Oh, snap!
