In the 447th Q&A in our Getting to Know… series, we get the inside scoop from the Swedish hard rock trio, Sound Delivery.
“We are a rock trio that the 70s wish they had.” Word, Sound Delivery! The band, comprising Jack L. Stroem, Waldemar Skoglund, and Johan Aberg, expound, “[We are] an honest trio. With glowing guitar, interlocking bass, and drumming, we make many believe we are a band that has been playing longer than we have been together.” We get the inside scoop on the band’s genesis, goals, musical influences, and current, and future musical endeavors. So, without further ado, let’s jump into Getting to Know… Sound Delivery: Interview No. 447!
For those who may not be familiar with you, what would you say makes Sound Delivery distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?
We are a rock trio that the 70s wish they had. A trio that knows their instruments and makes you feel involved during the concert. Sound delivery is an honest trio. With glowing guitar, interlocking bass, and drumming, we make many believe we are a band that has been playing longer than we have been together. Three men of the same scrap and grain should not be missed to listen and watch live.
Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did Sound Delivery form, and what were some of your early goals or visions?
We’ve known each other for a long time and have a lot in common, so we all wanted to make a record that sounded honest. Our goal was to record the songs we had previously jammed on and maybe only release a few singles, but with hindsight, it was easier than we thought to write new songs and chose to make a record of nine songs. Our first goal was to release a record and then get out and play live.
Let’s talk more about goals. Have your goals or your perspectives changed? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?
Our goal, which we hold fast to, is to be the rock band that sounds as good live as it does in the studio. our current goal is to continue writing and recording songs, and then booking tours
Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Whom would you consider some of your biggest musical influences, and how are they influential?
Bands like deep purple, led Zeppelin. Black Sabbath, Kiss, Rainbow are bands that we all grew up with. Bands that are actually good at their instruments.
To this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?
The song “More” is a song that is as honest as it can be, which you can hear on the record. It’s the second time we played it together. It started as a jam a few minutes before we pressed record.
What is Sound Delivery currently working on or promoting that you can share? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.
Right now, we are booking several gigs. We have also started recording for new songs… maybe there will be a record in the future.. those who wait for something good usually wait too long.. but maybe not when it comes to sound delivery.
Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to answer these questions, and best of luck moving forward.
