Revelry [📷: Revelry]In the 510th Q&A in our Getting to Know… series, we get the inside scoop from the genre-blending Southern California band Revelry.

“We like to NOT stay in a certain lane when it comes to genre.”
Awesome, Revelry! They elaborate, “We have songs that will rip your face off with metal guitar riffs, slamming drums, and harsh vocals. All while the next song you hear from us will be a pop and R&B vibe infused with melodic, clean vocals…” We get the inside scoop on the Southern California band’s genesis, goals, musical influences, and current and future musical endeavors. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into Getting to Know… Revelry: Interview No. 510!

For those who may not be familiar with you, what would you say makes you distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?

R: We like to not stay in a certain lane when it comes to genre. We have songs that will rip your face off with metal guitar riffs, slamming drums, and harsh vocals. All while the next song you hear from us will be a pop and R&B vibe infused with melodic, clean vocals that really grab your attention. We truly just love to create music that speaks to us all while keeping the experience new for our listeners.

Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did Revelry form, and what were some of your goals or visions early on?

R: The band was created nine years ago by David Alexander (guitar) with completely different members. Jeff Sage (guitar/vocals) joined the band during the recording process of the band’s first EP. The band was playing pop-punk music during this time. These would be the only two original members remaining to this day. The band went through several line-up changes while releasing two EPs and several singles. In January of 2024, the band decided to make a genre change, and that is when we introduced Kailey Shepardson (vocals) and Brian Kriz (bass) to the band. Our first single with this new lineup was our song, “SweetTooth,” featuring Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens). This song changed our lives and showed our fans we can do so much more with our music.

One year later, we would find Todd Encarnacion (drums). His first time being with the band was actually our music video for our song, “Love Me Now,” featuring Myke Terry (Volumes & Fire From The Gods) and Lophile (Issues).

Now that we have our set members, the band has never been in a better place. 2026 is going to be a great year for us. We just released our new single, “SIN,” and the response so far has been amazing. This year will be full of new music from us (maybe some collabs) and plenty of shows!

Let’s talk more about goals.  Have your goals or perspectives changed since you first started? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?

R: Our goals have absolutely changed since the beginning, but at the same time, some have stayed the same. For instance, with the success the band has started to see, such as new fans, other bands and companies wanting to work with us, and venues asking us to play shows, we do take a more serious approach to the band. Don’t get us wrong, we still make sure it is a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone in the band, but at the end of the day, we do treat it like a business. We set our goals pretty high, with hopes of touring (even if it’s a small tour) and possibly working with a record label. This year is already mapped out with new music and shows from us; we just have to keep grinding to make our dreams happen!

Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Who would you consider some of your biggest musical influences, and how are they influential?

R: Some of our influences would have to be bands like Issues, The Home Team, and Rain City Drive. However, we do take inspiration from a lot of other artists that aren’t in our genre, like Sabrina Carpenter, Mariah Carey, and even Usher. We use the best part of all these artists to create our own unique sound.

Ah, the fun stuff.  What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance?  Feel free to be creative.

R: We recently played a show at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA, and during the second-to-last song of our set, our singer, Kailey, wanted to get some more crowd participation, so she decided to step off stage and get the mosh pit going. She was accidentally knocked over and lost the batteries to her in-ear monitors. She’s okay, thankfully but she did have to finish the set without the in-ears.

To this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?

R: It would have to be between two of our songs. “MANEATER” and “SIN”. One is a heavy-hitting song with a face-punching breakdown, while the other is a sexy R&B/pop feel that makes you want to shake your ass in the best way. Both of these songs seem to do well with the crowds and are a lot of fun to play live.

Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left-of-center we should know about Revelry? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?

R: Aside from being in a band together, we are truly a family. Each one of our members has an important role in the band that helps push us even more forward to keep the momentum. It’s what also gives every member purpose rather than relying on one sole person to do everything.

What is Revelry currently working on or promoting that you can share? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.

R: We currently have all of 2026 mapped out with single releases and even a double part EP in the works that’s set to release later this year. We are also working very aggressively to play as many shows as possible and even hopefully getting on some festivals such as Warped Tour. All I can say is expect the unexpected from us this year!

Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to answer these questions, and best of luck moving forward.
