Nightcatcher [📷: Nightcatcher]In the 481st Q&A in our Getting to Know… series, we get the inside scoop from the Danish solo project, Nightcatcher.

“If I had invented 80s music back in the 70s, I’d be fucking unique!” Word! In response to our first burning question, one-man band Nightcatcher adds, “I think I rock the socks off just by being catchy.” We get the inside scoop on the Danish musician’s genesis, goals, musical influences, and current and future musical endeavors. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into Getting to Know… Nightcatcher: Interview No. 481!

For those who may not be familiar with Nightcatcher, what would you say makes you distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?

If I had invented 80s music back in the 70s, I’d be fucking unique! But I’m almost 50 years too late. Still, once that’s out of the way, I think I rock the socks off just by being catchy.

Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did Nightcatcher come about, and what were some of your goals or visions early on?

It all started when I was parachuting. Something went wrong, and I was falling through the sky. Right then, an idea hit me—a riff, a beat, a song! I had to survive just to make it real… Well, not really. It would’ve been cool to have a story like that. The truth is, I’d just been thinking about it for a while, and one day, I finally had the time to make it happen. My goal is to play live in the near future—hopefully next year. And of course, to build an audience. That’s my goal.

Let’s talk more about goals.  Have your goals or your perspectives changed since first starting? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?

Nightcatcher has only existed for less than a year, so for now, my goals are still the same 🙂.

Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Who would you consider some of your biggest musical influences, and how are they influential?

Not really influenced by anyone in particular! Maybe Paul Hertzog (the Bloodsport & Kickboxer soundtracks) for the Nightcatcher project—it gives that 80s soundtrack vibe 🙂. But Dave Mustaine and James Hetfield are my all-time heroes. I don’t think they’re really influential for this one though 🙂.

Ah, the fun stuff.  What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance?  Feel free to be creative.

Hmm, nothing wild happened. I only have those ‘you should have been there’ stories… I know it sounds kind of boring.

To this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?

Damn… that’s a tough one. The first thing that comes to mind—and I’ll just stick with that—is a song called “Wait for Closure.” It just feels really good to play. By the way, it’s not a Nightcatcher song.

Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left-of-center we should know about you? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?

Besides surviving the parachute incident? (Though in real life I’d never jump out of a plane.) Honestly, I’m useless in every possible way—there’s nothing I’m really good at. No special talents… maybe special needs? Does that count?

What are you currently working on or promoting that you can share? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.

I’m working on the release of the next single, “Fake It Till You Make It.” There’s no release date yet. I’m shooting a music video for it, but I’m still figuring out the right location and all the details.

Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to answer these questions, and best of luck moving forward.

Thanks, and you’re welcome🙂👌.
