For the 111th interview on The Musical Hype, we get some colorful, intriguing responses to our questions from UK collective More! More!
“We are mutually afraid of feet. Having both had individual negative experiences with bunions and corns as youths, we prefer that audience’s keep their socks on.” Wow! Never has the Musical Hype ever received such a colorful, unique answer to an interview question! ROCK ON! The entertaining answer comes in response to how More! More! ‘rock the audience’s socks off.’ Of course, the band goes on to provide a musical response to the question. That said, as you can see, Getting to Know… More! More!: Interview #111 is certainly an engaging interview. So, without further ado or unnecessary rambling, let’s jump right in, shall we?
Let’s get this started off right. For those who may not be familiar with More! More!, what would you say makes your band distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?
So, we are mutually afraid of feet. Having both had individual negative experiences with bunions and corns as youths, we prefer that audience’s keep their socks on. However, we do melt faces. FYI, we REFUSE to pay dry cleaning bills for audience members who ruin their shirts with their melted faces. Our unique flare for the radical, the tubular, and bizarre make us stand out. You go to a show and expect just rock n roll? Nah! We’re like Survivor. You come for the prizes and leave with lifelong friends and hypothermia. We rule. Other bands also rule. Critics drool!
Wow! That just might be the most colorful response I’ve ever heard! What a way to commence! Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did More! More! form and what were some of the goals or the visions you had as a band early on?
We met in Sealand, a small territory built on a helicopter-landing pad off the coast of the UK. We are both dukes and lords of the small country. We fought alongside the King during the revolution, and we became quick royalty. Our crowns got to our heads, and we had an epic downfall into depression and rage. We soothed our aching hearts through music when we moved back to America and created our epic band together.
Quite a tale to say the least. Continuing on, let’s talk more about goals. Have your goals or your perspectives changed since first starting out? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?
Our goals are to crush the stage, crush some hearts, and crush some brewskis with the bros!
Rock on! Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Who would you consider some of your biggest musical influences and how are they influential?
We are influenced by PUP, Sublime, The Hives, each other, my brother, stallions, Bear Grylls, Gordon Ramsay, trashcans, dreams, our pets, did I say each other?
Ah, the fun stuff – not that this hasn’t already been a blast. What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance? Feel free to be creative.
We got back-to-back, and our shirts fused together, and like the Power Rangers, we became one epic musical beast that tore apart the stage like no other. We have no other way of explaining it except magic.
Yep, magic indeed! Up until this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?
We have two. “Windows Down” and “It Doesn’t Matter.” We just released “Windows Down” on Spotify and YouTube ⬇, and it’s dope. We produced “It Doesn’t Matter” with Dave Schiffman, and we’re stoked about how it sounds. He’s awesome.
Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left of center the world should know about you? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?
We can teleport, but don’t tell anybody. It’s kinda like the government is after us for that ability. If they find us, we’ll likely be locked up for good.
Your secret is safe with me… Well, actually not because people will read this so… OOPS! Closing things out, what is More! More! currently working on, promoting that you can share with us or want us to know about? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.
“Windows Down” on Spotify! Listen to that ASAP. Then, “It Doesn’t Matter” is coming out in a month. It’s a brand new song with AN EPIC CHORUS YOU’LL FREAKING LOVE!
Thank you so much for sharing taking the time to answer these questions, and best of luck moving forward.
