Cold DropIn the 504th Q&A in our Getting to Know… series, we get the inside scoop from the Danish hard rock band Cold Drop.

“We want to give our audience and fans a complete experience, visually, audibly, and spiritually!”
Amen, Cold Drop! RipEye (Bruno Annesen) touts the band’s “killer live shows” and states their “unique blend of styles that morph into a highly explosive combo of catchy melodies with amazing sing-along choruses and bone-crushing riffs” makes them engaging.  Beyond RipEye, Cold Drop comprises Thunder Rhino, Two Faces, John AB, and Adam. We get the inside scoop on the Danish hard rock band’s genesis, goals, musical influences, and current and future musical endeavors. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into Getting to Know… Cold Drop: Interview No. 504!

For those who may not be familiar with you, what would you say makes you distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?

Well, first of all, we’re all very different, both in our music taste as well as our approach to writing music. What is going to blow the audience’s socks off, you ask? It is killer live shows with ferocious energy that makes you crave for more! But also, a unique blend of styles that morph into a highly explosive combo of catchy melodies with amazing sing-along choruses and bone-crushing riffs, and who knows, there may even be a breakdown or two hidden somewhere as well. We want to give our audience and fans a complete experience, visually, audibly, and spiritually!

Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did Cold Drop form, and what were some of your goals or visions early?

Ahhhh yes, the “backstory!” Since I’m one of the new kids on the block, I only know from John AB, what happened in the early years of Cold Drop, but essentially, John wanted to go balls to the wall, and the rest of the band wanted to be a fun band, content to just hang out in the practice room. So, they got replaced, and it took about a year and a half until Cold Drop finally emerged into its final form. Here we are, ready for battle and to show the world who Cold Drop is and what we can do!

Let’s talk more about goals.  Have your goals or perspectives changed since you first started? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?

To be honest, Cold Drop’s goal has never really changed at all, only its members. To quote MMA legend Conor McGregor, “We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over.” So, world domination, nothing more, nothing less.

Cold Drop

Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Who would you consider some of your biggest musical influences, and how are they influential?

You’re right, everybody got their own particular influences and story, and that’s the same for us in Cold Drop. I can elaborate about mine and how they got me to this point. I started more or less the same as most who learn the guitar, with “Smoke on the Water,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “Johnny B Good,” etc. But where I really came into my own was with Rage Against The Machine, Biohazard, and Machine Head, where the mid-tempo grooves really got to me and shaped my way of thinking music-wise, in building up a riff and making variations. And then, bands like Gojira and Mastodon took it to another level in terms of songwriting, where my love for fast and brutal music like Slayer and death metal bands like Napalm Death, Suffocation, Obituary, and Death was also was great inspiration.

Ah, the fun stuff.  What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance?  Feel free to be creative.

Well, since this line-up is fairly young, Adam and I first joined in the summer of 2025, and it was a mad dash to get ready for our studio session with legendary Danish producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio. There really aren´t that many crazy and wacky stories to tell, yet! But I can share a tiny secret with you guys that someone, again not saying who, might have gotten a bit too drunk during the first day of recording and slept the whole day! Jaeger Meister FTW!

To this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?

Right now, we’re in the process of getting ready for our debut show at a venue called Last Train in Oslo, Norway (www.lasttrain.no) on February 13, 2026.  So, I can’t say which song is gonna be my favorite to perform live, but “Gentle” is by far my favorite. I finally got to contribute some riffs on that one. It has a really heavy and fast opening riff that honors the good old thrash era like Judas Priest, Slayer, and Megadeth, but still has the Cold Drop signature sound and catchiness, but just heavier.

Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left-of-center we should know about Cold Drop? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?

Oh darn…. Can we please take a rain check on that one for now?!

Cold Drop

What is Cold Drop currently working on or promoting that you can share? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.

As I mentioned earlier, we´re getting ready for a sonic assault on Oslo, Norway in February, and then we’re moving on to Germany in April before returning to Norway in May. Hopefully, we got some summer concerts and festivals to do as well. And our newest single, “Gasolin,” which is an absolute monster, should be out by the time you have this, and an official video should follow soon. When “Gentle” is coming, I don´t know atm, but that is gonna rock people’s heads right off! I can guarantee that!!!! So, stay tuned and stay hungry! Love Bruno “RipEye” Annesen.

Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to answer these questions, and best of luck moving forward.
