“W

e have a lot of different influences that we combine together in our music,” 🎙 Sepi – Seppo Nummela (guitars and keyboards) – of 🎙 Ambassadors of Eternity, shares. In response to our first burning question in our 279th interview, he adds, “[Our] unique sound comes from the dynamics that we have in our music. There could be very heavy parts or only acoustic guitar in our songs.” Love it! Like our many other Getting to Know Q&As, we get the inside scoop on Ambassadors of Eternity: genesis, goals, musical influences, and of course, current, and future musical endeavors. Sepi answers most of the questions but we also muster up an answer from his bandmate, 🎙 Sammy Salminen (vocals). 🎙 Toni Laroma (bass) and 🎙 Samuli Kiviniemi (drums) round out the band. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into 🎤 Getting to Know… Ambassadors of Eternity: Interview No. 279!

Starting things off, for those who may not be familiar with you, what would you say makes Ambassadors of Eternity distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?

🎤 Sepi: We have a lot of different influences that we combine together in our music. Some influences come from bands like Vola, Karnivool, Deftones, Katatonia, Anathema, Tool, and Perfect Circle… [Our] unique sound comes from the dynamics that we have in our music. There could be very heavy parts or only acoustic guitar in our songs. Come and see the live show, we will show how to kick some ass with cool lights and sounds!!

Ambassadors of Eternity [📷: Anu Tuoriniemi]Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did Ambassadors of Eternity form and what were some of the goals or visions you had early on?

🎤 Sammy: Me and Toni came out with an idea to establish a new band. We played together in Ancara for a while, but when we put Ancara to sleep, it was obvious that something new would have to arise. We had known each other for decades but when I met Seppo accidentally at Tavastia (great Finnish venue) club in. 2018 and I told him about the idea that Toni and I had. Seppo loved the idea and joined in. After that, we had only one candidate for the drums, and it was Samuli. Samuli played in HAVEN – cover band with Seppo – so he knew him already. He was talented enough to join this band which needed an excellent drummer with a good taste of shitty humor and weird beats.

🎤 Sepi: The vision was to paint a beautiful picture with music. Different stories with atmospheric/ melancholic vibe.

Let’s talk more about goals. Have your goals or your perspectives changed since first starting out? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?

🎤 Sepi: Our goal is to finish our debut album and get some nice gigs. Another goal would be record deal or cooperation with some good company who can raise our band to next level.

Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Whom would you consider some of your biggest musical influences and how are they influential?

🎤 Sepi: Oops.. I kind of answered this already.

Ambassadors of Eternity [📷: Anu Tuoriniemi]Ah, the fun stuff. What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance? Feel free to be creative.

🎤 Sepi: It was in Russia. We had a gig in St. Petersburg, and we got information during the soundcheck that we do not have a hotel or any place to sleep. The promoter took us to his “office” which was under the building somewhere in the St. Petersburg’s suburban area… We took a metro in the middle of the night to get there. That was scary shit… could not sleep at all.

Up until this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?

🎤 Sepi: My favorite song that I have composed and recorded is AOE’s 🎵 “Wreck”. It just has that mood that I was after, and I am more than satisfied with the result.

Ambassadors of Eternity [📷: Anu Tuoriniemi]Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left of center the world should know about you? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?

🎤 Sepi: I think Toni has some secret talent while he is making our lyric videos. Check out the graphics he has done!!

Closing out, what is Ambassadors of Eternity currently working on, promoting that you can share with us or want us to know about? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.

🎤 Sepi: We are currently working on new material while we try to promote our new EP, 💿 ARRIVAL. Check out our website and some cool music videos on YouTube.

Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to answer these questions, and best of luck moving forward.
