George Ezra shows off tremendous energy, enthusiasm, and personality on “Paradise,” the second single from his sophomore album, ‘Staying at Tamara’s.’
“If it feels like paradise running through your bloody veins / You know it’s love heading your way.” Sweet – George Ezra is back! In 2015, the deep, robust-voiced singer-songwriter shined on his debut album, Wanted on Voyage. That effort included gems including ‘ace-in-the-hole’ “Budapest,” “Cassy O’,” and “Listen to the Man.” In 2017, Ezra dropped a fun promo single, “Don’t Matter Now,” for his sophomore album, Staying at Tamara’s (March 23, 2018). “Paradise” serves as the second single from the highly-anticipated project.
From the jump, “Paradise” is fun and light-hearted, with a heaping spoonful of tongue-n-cheek. George Ezra delivers a charming, playful vocal performance, stretching out monosyllabic words into multisyllabic ones (“mind” and “time”). He showcases his aforementioned, deep, robust vocals, but also drops some impressive falsetto. The production work matches his enthusiasm and big personality, making “Paradise” a pleasure from start to finish.
Final Thoughts
After hearing “Paradise,” listeners will have “nothing but love” for George Ezra. Clearly, Ezra is ‘feeling the feels’ of love, and it’s nothing short of celestial. Great vocals, tongue-n-cheek songwriting, and an enthusiastic vibe makes“Paradise” terrific. Staying at Tamara’s should be pretty sweet. Ezra probably thinks so.
