Prepare to beam with P-R-I-D-E! Beaming with Pride celebrates, embraces, and spotlights songs by LGBTQ musicians or allies.  Here, we provide background and insight into musicians, analyze, plus go gaga over the decadent bops served up.  When songs dictate deeper and more transcendent discussion, we ensure the point is fully articulated.  All styles of music are welcome, whether the songs are classics or brand-new. So, without further ado, in the second edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Homoerotic” performed by Gabriel Santiago.

“I like your style / Boy, the way you’re struttin’ / Oh my god / There’s no need to tell me who you are.”
Oh, snap 🫰 💅!  It’s giving F-I-E-R-C-E!  Oh, and just in case your eyes were deceiving you, he’s beautiful! Who? Why, the hella handsome and talented Mexican pop singer, songwriter, and producer, Gabriel Santiago 😍.  Santiago keeps things unapologetically gay on “Homoerotic”.  It’s intentional, and, other than ultra-conservative, myopic folks stuck in heteronormativity, who would have it any other way? The two-and-a-half-minute bop was written and produced by Santiago.  Take one listen, and the high-quality, sleek sound of this joint marks a surefire flex. Once again, I can’t fail to mention the eye candy… d-d-damnnn! It begins with the single cover art work: shirtless, showing off the belly button, treasure trail, a Homoerotic tattoo, and unbuttoned jeans.  It’s a beautiful sight to see 🤭 🤤 🤩.  Adding to the beauty and provocativeness is the video, directed by David Cuní, in all of its queer glory.  Say gay, say gay, say GAYYYYY! There is plenty of uncovered skin to feed your appetite! You should probably watch it from home… too hot 🥵 for work 😈!

Enough lusting, objectifying, and ogling, though. The musical accompaniment is striking on “Homoerotic.” It thrives with a sickening groove, prominent slap bass, rhythmic guitar riffs, energetic brass hits, and picturesque keys.  As fresh as “Homoerotic” sounds, it also evokes the pop of the past, which is fabulous and nostalgic. Beyond his physical beauty, Santiago serves up beautiful vocals: youthful, bright, and expressive. His tenor is sweet, particularly when he showcases his ripe falsetto.  The section to beat is the infectious, irresistible chorus, which plays out something like this:

“Got me in a trance

Like the way you movin’ with the way you dance

You’re so exotic

Dance with me, make it homoerotic

Ain’t gotta be a sin

Show a little a skin…

You’re so hypnotic

… You’re homoerotic.”

Yasss 💅! You betta slay, Gabe! Fittingly, Santiago makes his fair share of gay references.  In the second verse, for example, he asserts, “The leather fits you tight just how I like.” Ooh-la-la. Leather has been historically part of the gay community, so he notably mentions it. He adds, “Read my lips / Read my body language / Through my handkerchief / And let’s put on a show nobody can resist.” Ah, the hanky code – also part of the gay community. I could analyze the lyrics more, but the music speaks for itself. All told, “Homoerotic” is a badass, dance-pop banger that embraces queerness whole hog. This liberated joint is a must-hear!
