Rapper G-Eazy remains true to who he is as an artist on his brief, confident, and sample-fueled single, “Nada.” He doesn’t move the needle.
“I wear Prada, Balenciaga / I party when I wanna / And she can’t tell me nada / No, she can’t tell me nada.” G-Eazy is ‘true to self’ on his brief (two-minute) single, “Nada”. He’s a grown-ass man! Fueling his fire is a sample: “Tom’s Diner” by Suzanne Vega. This familiar oldie, specifically the “Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo” is the basis of this cut. Even with Vega’s big contributions, there a several ‘cooks in the kitchens’ aka producers: Felix Joseph, AoD, MD$, Rodaidh McDonald, and Josh Parkin. Minimally produced (interpolation vocals, beat, and a dash of piano), “Nada” is anchored by a trap beat.
G-Eazy drops a respectable flow. He’s not game-changing but brings his raspy voice and signature fuckboy personality. “Too much filler, now she got a lisp / But it’s feeling insane, when she sucking on this,” he spits in the first verse. Adding to the naughtiness, in the second verse, he asserts, “Met her at The Ned, now I got her legs spread / When we done, the mattress halfway off the bed.” Rough, passionate sex. Eazy also brags about his “Million dollar dick, should probably get it insured.” As far as the rhymes, Eazy doesn’t say much – nothing transcendent. All in all, “Nada” is enjoyable enough – it’s respectable. It doesn’t move the needle, however. This is a take-it-or-leave-it song from the “No Limit” rapper.
