nnuendo? More like full-on sexual vibes! Welcome to After Dark 🕛 🌃, a column featuring songs that are best suited for nighttime, specifically, the bedroom.  Many of the records featured here raise eyebrows, as well as the temperature! These After Dark tunes focus on the universal three-letter word:  SEX. The dark records gracing After Dark are old and new alike, with all genres of music welcome.  In the 51st edition of After Dark (2022), we explore the naughty, risqué, & sexual vibes behind, 🎵 “London Bridge” by 🎙 Fergie.

Theme & Lyrics

oh snap“How come every time you come around / My London London Bridge wanna go down? / Like London,  London, London; wanna go down / Like London, London, London; be goin’ down like.” Two words: “OH SHIT!” I’d apologize for my potty mouth, but it should be noted that 🎙 Fergie uttered the phrase “Oh shit” repeatedly throughout 🎵 “London Bridge”.  Back in 2006, “London Bridge,” the first single from her debut solo album,  💿 The Dutchess, was ubiquitous.  It was also one of the silliest songs I’ve ever heard, and definitely a sexual transformation of the much more innocent children’s song.

holy f ing moly🎛 Polow Da Don crafted an awesome backdrop for the 🏆 Grammy-winning singer, who’d experienced mega-success with 🎙 Black Eyed Peas (that’s where the Grammys hail).  Anyways, over this badass beat, Fergie asserts herself as the sugar honey iced tea.  She’s bad, baby! “I’m such a lady, but I’m dancin’ like a ho (Oh, shit!) / ‘Cause you know I don’t give a fuck, so here we go (Oh, shit!).” Her confidence is through the roof, to say the least.  Of course, the part of the record that solidifies its After Dark 🕛 🌃 status is the chorus, where there’s no doubt in my mind that “London Bridge” is her… well, her private parts… And, of course, it involves his private parts… 👇👅🍆 … Yeah, I’ll just leave it there 😳.

Final Thoughts 💭

Bitmoji ImageReexamining “London Bridge” as it approaches two decades later, is it a great song? 😂, that’s a joke, right? The song is as dumb as it was in 2006.  And these days, well, the girls pretty much just say if they wanna hook up or not – it doesn’t require the use of a childhood classic!
