Enrique Iglesias, Move to Miami © SonySpanish pop icon Enrique Iglesias enlists frequent pop-rap collaborator Pitbull for his ridiculous, but fun and infectious new single, “Move to Miami.”

Madrid and Miami are in the house! That would be Grammy-winning Spanish icon Enrique Iglesias and Grammy-winning pop-rap sensation Pitbull. The two artists have joined forces a number of times, including “Messin’ Around” (Climate Change, 2017), “I’m a Freak” and “Let Me Be Your Lover” (Sex and Love, 2014), “Tchu Tchu Tchu” (Global Warming, 2012), “Come N Go” (Planet Pit, 2011), and “I Like It” (Euphoria, 2010).  Here, the single at hand is “Move to Miami.”

“Move to Miami” clocks in south of the three-minute mark, keeping things brief. That’s a good thing. Cutting straight to the chase, there’s honestly not that much to “Move to Miami,” regarding depth or substance. Essentially Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull are both enamored with the women of Miami – plain and simple. According to Iglesias, on the first verse, “This girl got me feelin’ risky.” On the pre-chorus, Pitbull raps, “She got that ass, she make it clap / She’ll leave you shook.” The chorus, performed solely by Iglesias, is all about – you guessed it – moving to Miami.

Final Thoughts

This electro-pop, Latin pop, reggaetón joint is utterly ridiculous.  But, just because it’s ridiculous doesn’t strip it of being enjoyable or fun.  The production is definitely the best attribute, giving this something of ‘Latin banger status.’ While the lyrics ‘go stupid,’ both Iglesias and Pitbull execute soundly. And as aforementioned, it’s short and sweet.
