Elton John, Dua Lipa, and PNAU gives us the groovy dance-pop bop that we didn’t even know we needed with “Cold Heart – PNAU Remix.”

emixes can be truly transformative. Cutting straight to the chase,From the onset, “Cold Heart” grooves hard – there’s no way you won’t move your body. As to be expected from a remixed, dance-pop record, the production work is brilliant. It can be characterized as colorful, picturesque, sleek to the nth degree. As I alluded to earlier, PNAU outdoes themselves crafting this song, which is a mix of late 70s/80s and present – an awesome fusion! Elton John is the first voice heard, adorning the warm, groove production work with the lyrics from “Sacrifice” ( Bernie Taupin, of course, penned those lyrics). Following the verse and pre-chorus, Dua Lipa enters singing “Rocket Man” (!) which makes for a super cool effect. As always, she sounds utterly sublime. I like the way that Lipa’s vocals are layered as “Cold Heart” progresses. Of course, Elton’s vocals also get into the mix too, creating a truly scintillating listening experience.
Final Thoughts
Essentially, Elton John, Dua Lipa, and PNAU give us a song that we didn’t even know we needed! “Cold Heart” is everything – sweet, decadent ear candy. What really stands out is the creativity. I love it when musicians can make something brand-new and vibrant from something firmly established. Put on your dancing shoes for this bop!
