Demi Lovato, Tell Me You Love Me © Island / HollywoodAfter dropping three great, electrifying singles ahead of Tell Me You Love Me, Demi Lovato delivers another good one with “Sexy Dirty Love.”

Demi Lovato has been on a hot streak as of late. After alluring us with the unapologetic “Sorry Not Sorry,” the big-voiced pop star announced her new album, Tell Me You Love Me.  At the same time, she dropped a second incredible single, “Tell Me You Love Me.” She made another powerful statement with third teaser track, “You Don’t Do It for Me Anymore.”  One week in advance of Tell Me You Love Me, she issues her fourth and final single, “Sexy Dirty Love.”

“Sexy Dirty Love” is the third on the track list from Tell Me You Love Me, following “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Tell Me You Love Me.” Whoa – that’s two hard acts to follow! At least, to its credit, “Sexy Dirty Love” is groovy AF, featuring slick production work.  It’s a fun, upbeat joint that’s suggestive, but not explicit.  Therefore, it’s not a blunt as “Sorry Not Sorry” or as hard-hitting and powerful as “Tell Me You Love Me.”  Honestly, this record is completely different from the three that precede it, including “You Don’t Do It for Me Anymore.”

Final Thoughts

There are no glaring cons regarding “Sexy Dirty Love.” However, this single doesn’t feel as potent as the three preceding it.  Lovato set the bar extremely high.  While “Sexy Dirty Love” is fun, it’s not exactly ‘thrilling.’  Is it the lack of curse words? A lack of emotion? No – it’s simply the fact that Lovato is following three juggernauts, and this one isn’t.  It’s good, but not great.
