Well, it is steaming hot 🥵 at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo, and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. These risqué, unapologetic records often raise eyebrows and temperature alike. In the first edition of Midnight Heat (2025), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind, “SPECIAL” by David Hernandez.

“You’re special / Someone has made you so special / The good Lord’s perfections that’s for sure / It’s you, the one for me, it’s gotta be / So special / So special.” Damn, David Hernandez is hot 🥵.  That is an understatement! But it’s not only that beautiful face, beautiful brown eyes, and chiseled body that make him special.  The former American Idol is special because of his talent – dat boi can flat out S-A-N-G! A prime example of Hernandez’s musical talents comes by way of his single, “SPECIAL,” which appeared on his 2022 EP, Don’t @ Me.  Hernandez delivered a fantastic sex song that more folks need to be buzzing about and using as inspiration for… ‘doing it.’

What makes “SPECIAL” the sugar honey iced tea? It begins with a soulful, sensual R&B musical backdrop.  The sound hearkens back to the days of the neo-soul.  That isn’t far-fetched for Hernandez, a millennial, who likely grew up with that style of R&B.  Creating this old-school sound are keys, a robust bass line, horns, and background vocals.  As electrifying as the instrumental is, the straw that stirs the drink is David Hernandez, PERIOD.  HE delivers buttery smooth, expressive vocals, singing with incredible authenticity. Listening to “SPECIAL,” you can’t help but believe that David is singing to you… at least, that’s how I feel 😍 🤭 (“A diamond, you’re so fuckin’ special”). He sounds fantastic singing in his middle and upper register.  His falsetto is especially ripe. His ad-libs are enough to make you wanna…  get down and dirty 😈.  “We can switch it back and forth / But always leave you wanting more / Don’t blow yet, you’re so special.” Oh, yeah, David 🤤 🤤 🤤!  Besides sexy vocals from a sexy man, the melodies are memorable and tuneful – verses and the centerpiece, the chorus.  The songwriting is lit, with its sickening, utterly special innuendo – “You climb right on top and it’s special.” Oh, snap! David Hernandez and “SPECIAL” are indeed hella special! While the song isn’t really NSFW, the music video is 🥵 🥵 🥵! I repeat, David Hernandez is hot!!!
