In the 61st edition of Music Lifts (2023), weโre uplifted by David Guetta and Sia performing, โTitanium.โ
Welcome to Music Lifts
, a column that seeks to highlight songs that encourage, inspire, and uplift the spirit; songs that exude fortitude, positivity, and resolve, even in the face of adversity. Featured songs arenโt genre-specific; songs may or may not be faith-based. The goal is for these songs to make you feel better โ be LIFTED to new heights! So, for the 61st edition of Music Lifts
(2023), we highlight
โTitaniumโ as performed by
David Guetta and
Sia.
โYou shoot me down, but I wonโt fall.โ Why, wonโt you fall,
Sia? Three words: โI am titanium.โ Now thatโs a flex
right there! Furthermore, the lyrics Sia sings are encouraging, inspiring, and uplifting.
Grammy-winning French DJ/producer
David Guetta and Sia collaborated on
โTitaniumโ, a surefire bop from Guettaโs 2011 album,
Nothing but the Beat. This empowered, feel-good song was penned by Guetta and Sia alongside
AFROJACK and Giorgio Tuinfort. Guetta produces alongside AFROJACK and Tuinfort, creating an energetic, picturesque backdrop. As for Sia, she does her thing on this multiplatinum, no. 7 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
For Sia, the adversity is incredibly loud! Even so, โIโm criticized, but all your bullets ricochet / You shoot me down, but I get up.โ Now that some true fortitude! Similarly, in the second verse, she sings, โRaise your voice, sticks and stones may break my bones / Talking loud, not saying much.โ Despite everything, in the pre-chorus, she admits, โNothing to lose /โฆ Ricochet, you take your aim / Fire away, fire away.โ Of course, the result is that Sia is ATOMIC NUMBER 22โฆ TITANIUM, baby
! The lift
of the lyrics, production, and Siaโs distinct, powerful vocals is legit on
โTitaniumโ.
