David Guetta, Ayra Starr, and Lil Durk bring the heat on their entertaining, f-bomb featuring dance single, “Big FU.”
“Send a big ‘Fuck you’ to my replacement / I see you’re someone else’s favorite now.” Well, she-it, the bombs 💣 are flying aren’t they? And by bombs, I mean f-bombs. That said, when the name of the single is 🎵 “Big FU”, what do you expect. This big fuck you comes at the hands of a trio: French DJ/producer extraordinaire 🎙 David Guetta, Nigerian singer 🎙 Ayra Starr, and Chicago rapper, 🎙 Lil Durk. Perhaps the profanity keeps it from being an ‘at work’ vibe, but all in all, “Big FU” is fun.
The record runs a respectable 2:41. There’s also an extended version that runs more than a minute longer. Expectedly, Guetta and 🎛 Johnny Goldstein give us slick production with the groove, keys, and synths. Ayra Starr impresses with her deep, smooth vocals. Her tone is gorgeous, while the vocal production is superb as well. “I notice my key doesn’t fit in your lock / And you’re blockin’ my calls (My calls),” she sings in the first verse, adding, “I’m happy to see that you finally got / Everything that you want.” Of course, the crème de la crème is the catchy chorus, with its big FU and all:
“Send a big ‘Fuck you’ to my replacement
I see you’re someone else’s favorite now
In m-my own mind, I might be crazy
I swear to God that I’m not hating, no…”
Lil Durk arrives in the second verse, providing a fine melodic delivery. He contrasts Starr, yet also complements her:
“Pass me a cup, I don’t even drink, but I’m gettin’ drunk
I don’t even smoke, pass me a blunt, I want a puff
You can’t stop me, you gotta block me ‘cause I’m turnt up…”
All in all, 🎵 “Big FU”, is a vibe. It’s not the second coming of dance music, but it’s fun.
