Grammy-nominated rapper DaBaby joins forces with fellow rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again on the meaningless banger, “HIT.”
“I
got a stick in this bitch / Hit, huh, hit, huh, hit, huh, hit, huh…skully!” Yup, that’s the sugar honey iced tea that 🎙 DaBaby and 🎙 YoungBoy Never Broke Again serve up on 🎵 “HIT”. Specifically, the excerpted lyrics hail from the chorus performed by YoungBoy solely. Obviously, there’s little substance when one proclaims to have “a stick in this bitch,” but, at least 🎛 Cheese, Cardo, 🎛 Yung Exclusive, 🎛 Blake$ale, and 🎛 Johnny Juliano ensure he has a banging backdrop to fuel his fire.Still, even with aggressive delivery and hard-nosed production work, it’s not like DaBaby or NBA YoungBoy offer up anything brand-new, let alone transcendent. DaBaby is cocky and true to self, bragging, “I’m fuckin’ on her and her buddy.” Of course, you are. In addition to easy sex, there’s that Maybach (the drip), and of course, threats and violence (“You play with me, bitch, we gon’ make CNN / Bet a fuck nigga know better”). As for YoungBoy, in the second verse, following all that hitting and huh-ing, it’s the same script, including stick and wrist action, violence, and a joint line with DaBaby where they assert, “I got the baddest ratchet bitch that’s dancin’ all on my dick.” Take it with a grain of salt, I guess.
Final Thoughts 💭
All said and done, “HIT” is what it is and nothing more. Does it bang? Yes. Is it the least bit profound? No, there’s no profundity to be found on this meaningless two-minute joint. You won’t leave “HIT” moved or educated about anything in the least. No, educating was either the DaBaby or YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s modus operandi, but still, there’s just very little to this song right here.
