Cordae, Two Tens | Track Review 🎵

Rapper Cordae, assisted by the ever versatile Anderson  .Paak, and production courtesy of J. Cole (!), drops a brief but sensational rap banger with “Two Tens.”

“Two friends and they both tens, lookin’ nice, uh / Too bent, I should call it quits but I’m not, uh.” Woo! 🎙 Anderson  .Paak, a true vibe, has the pleasure of delivering the utterly lit 🔥 chorus of 🎵 “Two Tens”. The chorus marks one of the very best parts of this brief but potent 🎙 Cordae single. Furthermore, it isn’t only the chorus from .Paak that earns my seal of approval. How about how he trades bars with the lead artist, dropping a surefire bullet with “Shot the club up like Stojakovic.” Again, I say, WOO!

Beyond recognizing Anderson  .Paak, what about that production by 🎛 J. Cole? The beat hits hard while also hearkening back to the past, which is awesome.  Cordae rides the beat well, kicking off the first verse with, “The last time we tried that, it didn’t end well / Plus you never know the story that they friends tell.” Of course, it’s all about picking up women – dimes for that matter.  Essentially, an entertaining, compelling flow follows, shared by Cordae and .Paak.  One of their best exchanges:

“Man, I love this bitch, we gon’ travel and fill up the bucket list

Have ‘bout ten kids on the ranch on some southern shit

You mean sucker shit, slave to the pussy since you discovered it

Ten bands on Chanel purse, that’s bad budgetin’

Plus you niggas always together, it’s mad smotherin’

You simpin’ over bitches, I never thought it would come to this.”

Final Thoughts 💭 

All in all, Cordae, with the help of Anderson  .Paak and the production of J. Cole, delivers a surefire vibe with 🎵 “Two Tens”.  You could make the argument he is slightly overshadowed by his collaborators, both of which are Grammy-winning musicians.  Still, he drops some stellar rhymes too, and I appreciate him willing to sacrifice some of the shine for the good of this rap banger.
