Desire can be totally explicit, in all its lustfulness.  When you want something, sexually, it can make you say lots of crazy, totally NSFW stuff. In the case of British R&B singer/songwriter 🎙 Cleo Sol, her brand of desire on 🎵 “Desire” is incredibly classy.  Sure, there is an air of suggestiveness, but Sol brings the midnight heat with a sense of utter refinement. Of course, it doesn’t hurt when the sound of the record encompasses jazzy, neo-soul as opposed to trunk-rattling 808s.  Yes, the desire is there, but it’s nuanced to the n^th degree. Desire sans perspiration!

The sensual track is produced by Sol’s hubby, 🎛 Inflo. You could characterize it as sophisticated seduction, or something alongside those lines.  Lyrically, Cleo speaks about what he has done for her.  “Like a lullaby, you soothed my mind,” she asserts in verse one, adding, “You helped me smile, opened my eyes.” Aww 🥰, how sweet! In the second verse, she sings, “When it’s you and I, there is no time / Together we vibrate high.” Again, it’s given aww 🥰! In the pre-chorus, Sol tells us “I’m in a plastic world with you / But it’s your lovin’ that makes me feel real.” And, of course, last but not least, the chorus, where “Desire, I wonder if you’ll stay by my side.” All told, 🎵 “Desire” is a safe for work, sensual highlight from Sol’s 2023 LP, 💿 Gold. Again, the midnight heat is classier on this joint!
