Yeah, we are talking about that after dark, bedroom boom $hi†, ya dig? These unapologetic records often raises both eyebrows and temperature alike. Woo! In the 82^nd edition of Midnight Heat (2023), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind, 🎵 “MAKEUP” by 🎙 Chris Grey. 

“Your black dress falls at my door…” Yikes – it’s gettin’ hot 🥵 in here! The opening lyric from 🎵 “MAKEUP”, a sexy, 2023 song from Toronto, Ontario singer 🎙 Chris Grey makes it clear that clothes will be removed – they’re coming off, baby! “MAKEUP” is a dark number, set in a minor key.  Grey is transparent regarding the hellishness. “Oh, we’re getting close but it ain’t close enough / Far from God ✝️, oh so poised by lust 🍆 🍑,” he sings in the pre-chorus, continuing, “Don’t be afraid of what we have become / Down below there’s a spot saved for us.” So, even if they’re experiencing heaven under the sheets, they’re ultimately damned to hell 😈. Ooh-wee!

Throughout the course of this sensual number, Chris Grey sounds amazing.  He perfectly captures the naughtiness of the lyrics. “You can let your makeup ruin my sheets / You can let your nails dig into me,” he sings in the awesome chorus that suggests happenings that aren’t the least bit family friendly or safe for work.  Furthermore, Grey adds, “Girl I love the taste of your jealousy / Leave it on my tongue you’re my ecstasy / The high reminds me of you…” Besides terrific singing and memorable songwriting (Grey and 🎼 ✍ Mikalyn Hay), the music – the production (Grey) – is sweet too, in a hellish 😈 sort of way. If you haven’t heard 🎵 “MAKEUP”, you’re totally missing out.
