“'Cause you’re dealing with a lotta competition / You’re gonna have to do a lotta ass-kissing!” Da-yum 🎙 Chlöe, bringing that fierceness to the table! Woo! After dropping 🎵 “Have Mercy” in 2021, the 🏆 Grammy-nominated artist returns with a surefire bang with 🎵 “Treat Me”.  When Chlöe states this man’s “dealing with a lotta competition” it’s NOT another guy. It’s HER!

Basically, if you’re going to be with Chlöe, you better bring your A-Game. Essentially, she wants him to treat her like she treats herself.  Perhaps that’s demanding but think about it – who wants to be with someone who doesn’t treat them well? In this case, the perfect suitor has to ‘put in work.’ That said, in the chorus, Chlöe – or at least the 🎙 Bubba Sparxxx “Ms New Booty” sample – gives mixed messaging.  She wants him to put in work, but apparently, that work is also, say, “putting it down” in the bedroom.  Whatever, I suppose.  She gets a lift from strong production work by 🎛 Oak in addition to the sample.  Of course, there are multiple writers.

Final Thoughts 💭

oh snapSo, does Chlöe ‘come through’ on 🎵 “Treat Me”?  It’s fun and enjoyable. Is “Treat Me” the second coming? No. Like 🎵 “Have Mercy”, there are ample pros.  Still, as a solo artist, it feels as if Chlöe is either missing something or perhaps, doing too much.  I dunno, man.  Still, “Treat Me” should bring some attitude to any playlist.  Don’t let that man get away with not treating girls!
