For Chlöe (Chlöe Bailey), album number one, In Pieces (2023), didn’t perform well on the charts – an understatement. You win some, and you lose some. Despite her poor fortunes, Bailey returns with her first single of 2024, the acronymic “FYS”. Adorned with a parental advisory, explicit lyrics sticker, it should come as no surprise what the ‘F’ stands for in the song title… Fuck. As for the rest of the title, it’s your status, so, “Fuck Your Status” is what Chlöe is serving up.  She penned this explicit number alongside producer, Bongo. Additionally, her and Bongo produce with Go Grizzly and Cashmere Brown

She adds, “I know that you in love with the cat.” Meow… In the second verse, she remains naughty, asserting, “Make it so wet like a wave / I’ma make you feel that type of way / Countdown to the high / Climax of your life / Rain down, while you let me ride, let me ride…” Damn! Utimately, she’s so into this dude, and having sex with this dude, in the chorus, she’s like, “Fuck your status, it don’t matter / Money, cars, and the diamonds / Don’t faze me, I been had it.” All told, Bailey sings well on this sexy, contemporary R&B joint.  Furthermore, the backdrop matches the sexual nature of the lyrics – slower tempo, indulgent, lush synths, and smooth vibes.  “FYS” won’t change your life, but if you need a sex song to put you in the mood, you should indulge.
