“Mustard on the beat, ho!” Indeed, Mustard is on the beat, collaborating with drill rapper Chief Keef on the short but utterly infectious rap joint, “Shake Dat”. By short, “Shake Dat” runs only 1:40.  Despite the brevity, it is the irresistible chorus that went viral on TikTok, which earns “Shake Dat” its highest marks. “Baby girl, shake that (Goddamn) / You gon’ make me spank that, I’m tryin’ not to break that (Oh, yeah),” Keef raps, and continues, “It’s the big paycheck / Your momma gave you all that, you better not waste that.” That sound bite alone was sufficient to secure Keef and Mustard a surefire banger. Keef also drops a verse, filled with naughtiness that amplifies the carefree, party vibes.  “She do a split on the dick (I ain’t lyin’) / Lil’ freaky-ass bitch always showin’ her tits (God, bitch),” he raps, adding, “Yesterday, I was in the club, it was crazy / I know these bitches backs hurt from all that shaking (Goddamn).” It’s no poetic masterpiece, but Keef is highly effective conveying an ass-shaking good time.  As for the production (Mustard, GYLTTRYP, and Mr. Collipark), it most notably samples the Ying Yang Twins classic, “Whistle While You Twurk”, released in 2000.  No, the backdrop doesn’t significantly change from the 2000s hit, but it doesn’t need to. “Shake Dat” is what it is, a fun, kick-ass rap banger.
