Chelsea Collins, Vendetta [Photo Credit: BonFire]Prepare to put Chelsea Collins on your radar.  The 19-year old proves she’s the total artistic, musical package on “Vendetta,” her third single from 2018.

“I never thought I would be taking on all the roles that go into producing my own songs I write, but I’ve never put myself in a box, and it’s something that I’ve always lived by.” Chelsea Collins sounds like an ambitious, mature 19-year old to say the least.  The pop singer/songwriter definitely knows her stuff, studying classical piano and music theory from an early age.  Musically, she’s eclectic, incorporating elements of teen-pop, singer/songwriter, and urban styles. Collins has been keeping busy in 2018 – “Vendetta” marks her third single as of yet.

Labels and technicalities aside, Collins feels like she’s in her wheelhouse.

What does the Chelsea Collins wheelhouse consist of? As superb as the backdrop is, the main attraction are the vocals. Man, oh man can Collins sing.  She truly shines when she breaks free of the melody and goes for impressive, upper register ad-libs.  Those high notes pop, truly showing off mad vocal abilities.  Even when she’s not killing it with the high notes, she proves she’s got a fantastic tone.  Beyond the production and vocals, the songwriting is on-point, particular the chorus which is infectious.

“I may be next to you but you don’t know I’m undercover

There’s nothing left to lose I’m only here to see you suffer

Keep on thinking you’re entitled when

You’re stuck in your own denial babe We’re in this game for two, I play it Better, my vendetta.”

Final Thoughts

Um, what more is there to say? Chelsea Collins is hella talented.  “Vendetta” checks off the boxes for a pop bop (production, mad vox, and memorable songwriting).  Clearly, the 19-year old wunderkind is on to something.
