Logic, Everybody © Def JamLogic debuts at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 with ‘Everybody.’ Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber rise to no. 1 on the Hot 100 with “Despacito.”

Logic had an awesome week.  The Maryland rapper took his third album, Everybody, to no. 1 on the Billboard 200.  The numbers look great, as Everybody moved 247,000 units, according to Billboard. No, not all 247,000 units were sales, but a respectable 79% were pure sales, which is great for a rap album in the age of streaming.  Chris Stapleton also earned a piece of the Billboard 200 pie as From A Room: Volume 1 lands at no. 2, also moving more than 200,000 units (219,000 units, 92% pure sales).

On the Billboard Hot 100, there’s another new no. 1. Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee earn their first no. 1 hit with “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber.  According to Gary Trust of Billboard, it is the first Latin no. 1 since 1996 (“Macarena”)! How far did DJ Khaled fall after earning his first no. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with I’m the One”? No. 3 – not too shabby. There are plenty of chart takeaways from the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 dated May 27, 2017.
