The 1975 earns its first no. 1 album with ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It.’

There’s a new no. 1 album on the Billboard 200 dated the week of March 19, 2016, courtesy of British alternative band The 1975. Matt Healy and company outsold Adele this week. It’s not only about The 1975 – there are other chart stories as well!

1) The 1975 score a career-first no. 1 album with I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. The numbers weren’t awe-inspiring, but respectable.

2) Adele finds herself bumped out of the top spot – thanks a lot The 1975! Don’t feel bad for 25 – it’s sold like hotcakes and just slips to the runner-up spot.

3) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ This Unruly Mess I’ve Made debuts at no. 4. The numbers are okay, but initial indications suggest that horrid thing called ‘the sophomore effect.’

4) Kelly Clarkson’s Piece By Piece ascends 114 spots from no. 120 to no. 6. Yeah, it’s safe to say that Kelly did herself a commercial favor with that big emotional American Idol performance. Get it Kelly!

5) Anthrax scores the final new album in the top 10 as For All Kings lands at no. 9.

6) R.I.P. Joey Feek. Joey + Rory’s final studio album Hymns (That Are Important To Us) spends a third week in the top 10, closing out at no. 10.

7) Poor Bonnie Raitt! The veteran blues/rock/pop musician just misses the top 10, debuting at no. 11 with Dig In Deep. Can’t win ‘em all, unfortunately!

8) After a top five debut (no. 4 specifically), Yo Gotti’s The Art Of Hustle slips 12 spots to no. 16.

9) Future’s EVOL clings on for a fourth week in the top 20, slipping from no. 14 to no. 19 this week. Meanwhile, DS2 improves three spots from no. 35 to no. 32 in week 33.

10) Old Dominion makes great strides on the charts this week as Meat And Candy rises 74 spots from no. 109 to no. 35.

11) Willie Nelson’s latest album Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin debuts modestly at no. 40.

12) Tweet’s comeback isn’t exactly embraced with “open arms” – Charlene debuts modestly at no. 42.

13) Hillsong Young & Free enter the charts at no. 45 with Youth Revival. “Let the church say YES!”

14) Mike Posner’s The Truth (EP) continues to “move on up,” this time reaching no. 48, it’s first foray into the top 50 of the Billboard 200.

15) From Ashes To New take Day One to no. 53. Yep, not great…

16) Santigold does worse than Day One, as 99 Cents settles for a quiet no. 55 start.

17) Michael Jackson’s classic Off The Wall ascends 49 spots from no. 110 to no. 61.

18) Hands Like Houses’ latest album Dissonants enters the charts at no. 68.

19) Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color slips 44 spots from no. 40 to no. 84. OUCH!

20) Tori Kelly’s smile is most certainly breakable (or broken) this week. Unbreakable Smile slides 27 spots from no. 63 to no. 90 in week 28.

21) Country singer Maren Morris’ self-titled EP rises 12 spots from no. 108 to no. 96 in its sixth week on the chart. The EP features hit “My Church.”

22) Brett Eldredge’s Illinois improves 10 spots from no. 113 to no. 103.

23) Elton John’s Wonderful Crazy Night went downhill pretty fast following its initial no. 9 debut. This week, John gets good news as the album improves 42 spots from no. 157 to no. 115.

24) Lil Dicky sees Professional Rapper ascend 42 spots from no. 177 to no. 135. The album debuted at no. 7.

25) Usher’s diamond certified Confessions re-enters the charts at no. 200. Doesn’t that take you back to 2004? “YEAH!”
