“We put the trap in the entrepreneur / All of the time that we spent in the field, woulda thought I got me a Balon d’Or.” These lyrics require some interpretation, Central Cee! First and foremost, trap is technically not in the word entrepreneur, hence why the British rapper forces a spelling change on “Entrapreneur”. Secondly, the Balon d’Or reference comes from football (soccer), which is apparently slang for the streets.  Woo! Just examining those lyrics from the short banger should tell you that “Entrapreneur” is a captivating, ear-catching record.

Central Cee is agile, confident, and clever in his wordplay, as the Balon d’Or reference confirms.  He raps about trapping, open-mindedness (“Soho pitchin’ coke to the gay men, I’ll serve anyone, I got an open mind”), mental health (“I think that I got bipolar disorder, the way that I’m going through highs and lows”), among a plethora of other things.  One of his best lines occurs at the end of the first verse: “See man fall in love with the white, Billie Eilish, ‘cause they got ‘ocean eyes.’” Marvelous, Central Cee, marvelous! Backed by strong production work (Central Cee, Chris Rich, and Caleb Bryant), “Entrapreneur” is brief, clocking in at under two-and-a-half-minutes, but it’s incredibly entertaining and intriguing.
