Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion, "WAP" [Photo Credit: Atlantic]Cardi B, assisted by Megan Thee Stallion, get ‘down and dirty’ on the hella unapologetic, highly sexed-up single, “WAP.”

Cardi B had kept an unusually low profile in 2020.  Then, she released the X-rated “WAP.”  There is nothing subtle about the single, which enlists fellow risqué female rapper Megan Thee Stallion for the assist. In case you aren’t on the same dirty wavelength as Cardi or Megan, “WAP” stands for “wet-ass pussy.” Woo! Told you there’s nothing subtle about this sexed-up banger – it’s unapologetic AF.

Both Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are known for their fiercely, sexed-up personas, and “WAP” shows them straight-up flexing.  To the conservative ear, this is a single that goes against the stereotypes of women, who are expected to be reserved, submissive, and definitely NOT so sexually liberal.  While the argument can be made that both rappers flaunt sexuality too much to a distasteful extreme, the argument can also be said that they champion women having the same ability to desire and discuss pleasure the way men have for some time.

Modesty is never the modus operandi, with “whores” being the first word of the song on the intro (the record samples “Whores in This House” by Frank Ski). Cardi B asserts at the end of the intro, “Wet-ass pussy, make that pullout game weak, woo.” She goes on, on the chorus to speak about the wetness, while on the first verse, asserts, “Hop on top, I wanna ride / I do a Kegel while it’s inside.” As for Megan Thee Stallion, on the second verse, she begins with a bang: “Gobble me, swallow me, drip down the side of me / Quick, jump out ‘fore you let it get inside of me.”  It doesn’t stop there as both have additional verses with absolutely shocking, highly sexual lyrics.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, “WAP” is bold – perhaps even that’s an understatement.  Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion don’t back down from sex in the least – they embrace it.  Perhaps their ‘freaky’ perspective won’t be relatable to everyone, enjoyers of sex or not, but give them credit for such a raw joint.
