Grammy-nominated Colombian musician Camilo shines on his nightmare-fueled single, “Pesadilla.”

ho has one of the sweetest voices in the game? That would be Colombian 🇨🇴 Latin pop standout, 🎙 Camilo (Camilo Echeverry)! He also has quite the mustache too – just a visual observation! The 🏆 Grammy-nominated musician is back with a marvelous single, 🎵 “Pesadilla” (“Nightmare”). Even if “Pesadilla” translates in English as a nightmare, there is nothing nightmarish listening to this certified bop!Musically, “Pesadilla” is impressive. There’s not an abundance of production per se, but Camilo does a nice job of providing contrast. We get a slower first verse before the chorus increases the tempo, which is unexpected. Often, we hear songs in one tempo with few changes. The contrast here is welcome, making the listener tune in just a wee bit closer. So, what’s the nightmare thematically for Echeverry? He dreamed that another guy was kissing his girl and naturally was hurt and incredibly jealous. Of course, in the chorus, he wakes up (where that tempo increases) and realizes it was indeed a nightmare. He does, however, mention the possibility of another nightmare, translated in English (roughly) as follows:
“And if in the middle of the night someone falls asleep And you find that guy who comes out in my dreams Tell him, thank you very much, and come back another day Because I don’t think I knew that my baby isn’t even taken away in my dreams.”
Something like that at least. The bigger picture seems to be, Camilo loves her something fierce, and never wants to lose her to anyone.
Final Thoughts 💭
Once more, the dashing Colombian shines! Camilo continues to ‘kill it’ on “Pesadilla,” no cap. Hopefully, more folks begin to tune into the excellence he’s serving up. Here, he delivers a great vocal, a personality-filled performance, and colorful, enjoyable, and ultimately, thoughtful songwriting. ¡No hay pesadilla musical, aqui!
