Outlandish Rock 🎸🤘 provides background information and insight into rock and metal songs that raise eyebrows and stir the pot.  The records featured on Outlandish Rock 🎸🤘 can be classic or brand, spanking new – we don’t discriminate! On the 1st edition of Outlandish Rock 🎸🤘 (2022), we explore the outlandishness behind the song, 🎵 “Orgasm Addict” performed by 🎙 Buzzcocks.

Theme & Lyrics

Sexy alone time, aka masturbation, has been depicted many times in popular music.  The trick, in many cases, is how clever such a taboo subject matter is tackled.  For punk rock collective 🎙 Buzzcocks, the self-love of 🎵 “Orgasm Addict” isn’t masked in the least.  I mean, how could it be? Either the band is referencing a lot of sex with another person, or as is the case here, self-pleasure.

Bitmoji ImageEven if Buzzcocks show their hand, the lyrics are bold and colorful.  Furthermore, the energy is electrifying.  And for good measure, we get male orgasmic sounds.  That’s fitting, considering the band accurately depicts teenage male horniness. “Well, you tried it just once, find it all right for kicks / But now you found out that it’s a habit that sticks,” the late 🎙 Pete Shelley sings on the first verse, continuing on the chorus, “And you’re an orgasm addict / You’re an orgasm addict.”  True, though some guys might deny it.  The second verse is a bit dated referencing dirty mags – we have the internet now! Also, if you’re strategic, can’t you avoid Mom inquiring about “Those stains on your jeans?”

Final Thoughts 💭

Bitmoji Image“Orgasm Addict” doesn’t stop mentioning the sport that is male masturbation, again, colorfully.  One of the key lyrics those Buzzcocks serves up: “It’s a labour of love, fucking yourself to death.” Woo!  Shelley even dives into the fantasies, all driving the stroke 🍆 💦.  This is outlandish rock at its finest… and most outlandish!
