Welcome to Music Lifts, featuring songs that encourage, inspire, and uplift the spirit; songs that exude fortitude, positivity, and resolve, even in the face of adversity.  Featured songs aren’t genre-specific; songs may or may not be faith-based. The goal is for these songs to make you feel better – be LIFTED to new heights!  So, for the 39th edition of Music Lifts (2025), we highlight “Complete” as performed by Bryann T.

“Please forgive me if I lose my cool / I’ll forgive you if you lose yours too,”
Gospel Mike sings in the memorable chorus of the Christian rap song, “Complete”. One of three featured artists on the Bryann T (Bryann Trejo) -led gem from the 2024 album, Prayer Changes Everything, Mike adds on the memorable, thought-provoking chorus, “I ain’t worried about no glitter or no gold / Superstar, fast money, fast cars / Cuz I know Jesus is the lover of my soul / Turns every scar into a masterpiece of art.” Amen! Mike prefaces the excellence of Bryann T behind the mic, also assisted by Young Bro and Antwoine Hill.

With Gospel Mike setting the tone, he is accompanied by a soulful, spiritually charged, and reflective backdrop.  The production (Buckroll) is sleek, anchored by a hard-hitting beat. Bryann T impresses with his compelling cadence and flow as he raps. It begins with the bridge/post-chorus of sorts:

“Even when the world mistreats me

God gave me purpose, man, He perfectly completes me, yuh

Look, He builds me, shields me, filled me

He near me, You hear me, my King

C’mon.”

Amen! Bryann cries foul regarding judgmental folks, memorably spitting, “Trust me when I say, aye, one day, God will humble you.” Concluding the verse, he asserts, “He [God] saved me, He can save you, both of us could be saved / Never give up your faith, never say it’s too late, uh!” Word.  Young Bro adds to excellence, witnessing to the power of God: “If you see me in the fire, then I’m not alone / You see another person in it.” That’s biblical! Also, he yields not to temptation (“Trouble gon’ come, but I hear my King like, ‘It’s okay’ (it’s okay) / New song on my lips, joy in my heart with a big ol’ praise”). Antwoine Hill is not to be denied his opportunity to tout Christ! “But the passion of Christ in the same day took the lashes that I deserve more / But He was slain, stained for the masses for life,” he raps, and concludes, “My Master was slayed so that we can live / I actively pray, yeah.” Bryann T, Gospel Mark, Young Bro, and Antwoine Hill deliver powerful, meaningful lyrics regarding the wonderworking power of God on “Complete”.  This is a must-hear, Christian rap joint.
