Welcome to Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹, featuring songs that encourage, inspire, and uplift the spirit; songs that exude fortitude, positivity, and resolve, even in the face of adversity.ย  Featured songs arenโ€™t genre-specific; songs may or may not be faith-based. The goal is for these songs to make you feel better โ€“ be LIFTED to new heights!ย  So, for the 31st edition of Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹ (2025), we highlight โ€œI Know A Nameโ€ as performed by Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans.

Brandon Lake, King of Hearts (Full Deck Deluxe) [๐Ÿ“ท: Brandon Lake / Provident Label Group]From the start, โ€œI Know A Nameโ€ is electrifying. A warm introduction using piano and rhythmic synths sets the tone. Brandon Lake sings first, continuing to characterize Jesus as a โ€œname that can empty out a grave,โ€ โ€œsaves,โ€ and โ€œWorthy of all praise.โ€ย  CeCe Winans sings the second verse, which features a fuller, more developed musical accompaniment.ย  Her King โ€œholds the keys in his holy nail-scarred hands!โ€ Lake harmonizes with Winans in the second half of the verse as they laud โ€œOur resurrected Great I Am.โ€ They sound amazing in the high-flying, powerful, rock-oriented chorus.ย  What do they do? Why, they name Him!

โ€œI call you, Jesus

I call You, I call You, Healer

Risen and Reigning in power

Something comes out of the grave

Every time I call You, Jesus

I call You, I call You, Savior

Worthy of glory forever

Something comes out of the grave

Every time I call Your Name.โ€

Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹ (2025) [๐Ÿ“ท: Brent Faulkner / The Musical Hype; Dave H, Jean-Daniel Francoeur, Vansh Mehta from Pexels]The chorus is nothing short of epic.ย  Itโ€™s not the only epic moment of โ€œI Know A Name.โ€ The refrain is also incredibly powerful, where Lake and Winans proclaim, โ€œChains break, dry bones wake / Every time I callย  Your name / The gates of Hell shake / Every time I callย  Your name.โ€ Post-refrain, things come down about it, only to gradually build back up to a fever pitch. Donโ€™t you know, โ€œDead things come alive in the name of Jesus?โ€ Eventually, the dynamic chorus returns in all its glory, with the outro, where once again, dead things come alive, capping things off. โ€œI Know A Nameโ€ is a must-hear, powerful, contemporary Christian song.
