Country singer Blanco Brown and Grammy-winning rapper T.I. join forces for the country-trap single, “Trap Still Bumpin.”
“Trap don’t bump ‘less you moving that work seven days (Woohoo),” 🎙 Blanco Brown sings in the chorus of 🎵 “Trap Still Bumpin”, his collaborative single with 🏆 Grammy-winning rapper, T.I.. Brown continues singing in the chorus, “Steady whippin’ that wrist all night, getting’ minimum wage (Woohoo).” It should be noted that Brown is considered to be a country musician, so, “Trap Still Bumpin” is a country trap song… I suppose.
So, how is the country trap vibe/sound established? Well, it requires a trap beat and – wait for it – banjos. Also, Brown embraces twang, for better or worse. Constructing the sound is Brown alongside producer, 🎛 Tre Trax. Brown sets the tone of this joint, which is clearly an acquired taste. His chorus is successful, or at least, moderately so. Later, he drops the second verse, which encompasses coming up in the hood and now experiencing the ‘come up’ as a “Country superstar doing my thing.” T.I. has a small role in this sub-three-minute joint, rapping the first verse. Notably, the self-proclaimed King asserts, “From bologna sandwiches to extravagance / Solitaire twenty-carat shit / Ain’t no one lavis as the Harrises (bitch).” Woo!
Final Thoughts 💭
So, what does one make of 🎵 “Trap Still Bumpin”? Um, well, it’s okay but certainly not the second coming. Personally, I find country rap to be, um, sus. Regardless, there are many who will enjoy this record without reservations. As for me, eh.
