In a relatively slow week, Pentatonix spent a second week atop the Billboard 200 with A Pentatonix Christmas.  Trailing the vocal group were two familiar names: The Weeknd (Starboy) and Bruno Mars (24K Magic). Beyond the aforementioned, there are several notable chart stories from the Billboard 200 dated January 14, 2017.

1. Pentatonix spends a second week at no. 1 with A Pentatonix Christmas. That’s Christmas to Me remains in the top 10, despite slipping from no. 5 to no. 9.

2. The Weeknd (Starboy) and Bruno Mars (24K Magic) sit at nos. 2 and 3, flipping spots from the previous week.

3. J. Cole remains a top-five fixture as 4 Your Eyez Only remains static at no. 4.

4. twenty one pilots returns to the top 10 as Blurryface ascends from no. 15 to no. 7.

5. Drake (Views) reenters the top 10, jumping from no. 19 to no. 8.

6. Suicide Squad: The Album closes out the top 10 after ascending 11 spots (no. 21 to no. 10).

7. Shawn Mendes gets a mighty lift as Illuminate shoots up the chart from no. 37 to no. 11. Interestingly, his live set, Live at Madison Square Garden, debuts at no. 200.

8. Following his untimely death, George Michael reenters the Billboard 200 at no. 12 with TwentyFive. His second-highest reentry comes from Faith at no. 18, formerly a no. 1 album.

9. Yo Gotti earns the top debut on the Billboard 200, though White Friday (CM9) debuts modestly at no. 16.

10. Rae Sremmurd (Sremmlife 2) rebounds from no. 32 to no. 19.

11. The Sing soundtrack is on the rise, ascending 49 spots from no. 71 to no. 21. Another soundtrack, La La Land, also picks up steam, moving from no. 95 to no. 52.

12. Garth Brooks slips a might with The Ultimate Collection. It falls from no. 6 to no. 22.

13. The Chainsmokers (Collage EP) and Ariana Grande (Dangerous Woman) see gains in performance. Collage improved 10 spots (no. 33 to no. 23), while Dangerous Woman jumped 14 spots (no. 38 to no. 24).

14. In its second week of availability, the new Nine Inch Nails EP, Not the Actual Events, ascends five spots from no. 31 to no. 26.

15. A Tribe Called Quest receive a lift as We Got it From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service ascends 30 spots (no. 62 to no. 32).

16. Run the Jewels sees Run the Jewels 3 start at no. 35 on the Billboard 200.

17. Jon Bellion rebounds nicely with The Human Condition, moving from no. 92 to no. 36.

18. Frank Ocean (Blonde) lost some of his oomph in the sales and impact department, but makes gains this week (no. 167 to no. 44).

19. Gucci Mane slides 31 spots with The Return of East Atlanta Santa (no. 16 to no. 47).

20. Rappers Lil Uzi Vert (Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World) and D.R.A.M. (Big Baby D.R.A.M.) pick up steam this week. Lil Uzi moves up from no. 116 to no. 48, while D.R.A.M. ascends from no. 127 to no. 49.

21. Kid Cudi sees Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ free fall from no. 11 to no. 57. Ouch!

22. John Legend continues to experience a so-so run with Darkness and Light. Darkness slides from no. 40 to no. 61 in its fourth charting week.

23. Michael Bublé sees Nobody but Me free fall from no. 36 to no. 66.

24. Daya reenters the Billboard 200 with Sit Still, Look Pretty at no. 68. The set peaked at no. 36.

25. Bryson Tiller reclaims some of his swag as T R A P S O U L rises from no. 98 to no. 69.

26. Taylor Swift sees 1989 improve 34 spots (no. 106 to no. 72).

27. Tony Bennett Celebrates 90 dips 40 spots (no. 35 to no. 75).

29. Alicia Keys falls hard. Here dips from no. 86 to no. 163.

30. Charlie Puth reenters the Billboard 200 with Nine Track Mind (no. 166).
